What you’ll be doing…at the core

The Warehouse Operations Director will have complete responsibilities to ensure that MHIRJ new Parts Distribution warehouse meets expectations related to timely execution, quality control, costly execution, continuous improvements and finally customer satisfaction.

MHIRJ has invested in a state-of-the-art warehouse distribution center and elected to develop its operations on the latest ERP platform offered by SAP.  The mandate for the Operations Director will be in the first place to lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure that the transition and relocation of the warehouse currently in Illinois to Texas is properly executed in Haltom City

Responsibilities will include:  

  • Lead the implementation of a new contract agreement with the selected third-party vendor responsible for warehousing operations.
  • Manage, control and deliver the roll-out of the newly adopted S/4 HANA EWM module for the new warehouse.
  • Oversee all operational activities lead by the 3PL related to the ramp-up activities for the new warehouse and own all KPIs:  receiving, inventory management, shipping and kitting processes (activities will be performed by the third-party vendor)
  • Ensure that the multidisciplinary team initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures during the transition and the third-party vendor’s learning curve
  • Be the MHIRJ on-site leader that ensures a clear alignment between the selected third-party vendor and headquarters (located near Montreal, Canada)
  • Ensure proper implementation of processes to ensure an adequate ramp-up of operations

Once the transition and relocation is complete (targeted for Fall 2024), the Warehouse Operations Director will be responsible for:

  • Commit to company’s financial success and customer satisfaction by ensuring flawless and timely distribution activities for parts operations
  • Integrate all operational aspects related to third-party vendor, distribution, vendor and customer facing teams
  • Ensure third-party vendor’s conformance to company’s KPIs and performance gaps, including overall governance as well as the implementation of action and/or improvement plans. Owns all recovery actions as required.
  • Support the customs and transportation teams with on-site activities and warehouse-related supplier discussions
  • Integrates SAP gap assessment as needed and take the necessary actions to correct discrepancies and address them with the corporate IT team.
  • Leads the on-site supervisory functions that have for responsibilities to:  ensure attendance, productivity and priority management for employees on site

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a warehouse supervisor/management role
  • University degree in logistics management, supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering – OR equivalent work experience is required
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems is essential; experience with SAP is a plus
  • Master all concepts of supply chain within a distribution network
  • Proven experience in a distribution warehouse in “start-up mode” is a plus
  • Experience in the aftermarket aerospace industry is a plus
  • Candidate must demonstrate: a drive for results, excellent problem-solving abilities, root cause analytics, business acumen, proven influencing skills and strategic agility
  • A team leader with a strong sense of initiative, responsibility, and excellent judgment
  • Ability to multitask, manage several concurrent projects and meet deadlines and budgets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable to conduct a business unit with limited direct supervision from headquarters
  • Comfortable using MS Windows applications (MS Excel, Word and Power Point) 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Fluent in English - reading, writing, speaking
