Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The manufacturing engineer’s role is to provide direct engineering support for the repair and overhaul operations area to ensure that the production area has proper documentation and tooling. Act as a liaison between operations and quality, development engineering, and tooling to ensure that the production area has everything required to perform maintenance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and interpret technical blueprints
Enable the business to accept new parts or new damage type for repair, thus expanding company’s capability list and portfolio
Work to improve the manufacturing process to improve quality and reduce cycle time
Assist with operations training and implementation of new products and processes as they are introduced
Assist Quality dept in identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions
Develop tools for design and fabrication processing
Vet new processes to determine feasibility and cost
Lead RCCA efforts to drive root cause and corrective action
Lead improvement efforts with a mixed discipline team to drive waste out of internal processes, improving cycle times and maintaining quality
Provide training for both equipment and processes to operations and engineering employees
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical writing expertise
Requires self-starter skills and the ability to investigate the problem statement for each condition, part, and proposed solution
Ability to thrive in a team environment that requires peer reviews and cross-functional sharing of info
Technical and operational understanding of various maintenance operation processing techniques, and mechanical systems
Knowledgeable in computer applications relating to the job including, Microsoft Office Suite, CAD/CAM software, and other aerospace applications
Project management skills including the ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver timely results
Able to run analytical justifications through hand calculations. FEA software experience is a plus
Understanding of production processes, OEM manual data, and proper use of GD&T
Able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Good communication skills including written and verbal
