Job Description:

A Cabin Upholsterer will manufacture, fabricate, maintain, and repair cabin upholstery items on aircraft and cabin workshops. The cabin tailor/upholster will trim and stitch leather components, create cargo liners and seat covers, and repair damaged insulation blankets and seat covers. 


In this role, you will:



  • To perform fabrication on leather products and upholstering fabric repairs as per the drawing/sample.




  • To complete tailoring services for various furnishings, including curtains, seat covers, footrest covers, and carpets, using sewing machines and pattern templates, and adhering to vendor and ETSC approved drawings.




  • To carry out tasks as instructed by supervising Engineers, meet job requirements, and meet tailoring targets. Perform under pressure and deadlines, expedite tasks to On Time Departure, understand product alterations, and adhere to Emirates product quality standards. Adhere to safety, auditing, and house-keeping guidelines.




  • To maintain workplace equipment, adhering to vendor/machine manual guidelines, and inspecting sewing machines before and after use. It involves checking oil levels, cleanliness, and hazard-free conditions, and reporting any faults to avoid safety hazards.




  • To Maintain and ensure the safety of self and others by always taking safety precautions, continuously monitoring the working area and taking corrective action to keep it clean and obstruction free to avoid any accidents.




  • To carry out tasks involving use of specialised equipments/processes in accordance with approved processes and documentation

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:



  • 10 years schooling or equivalent training on tailoring or upholstery machines / specialised equipment with 2+ years experience in leather works or upholstery industry or tailoring or relevant specialised processes.

  • Full awareness of safety procedures.
