Northrop Grumman is seeking a Command and Control SME – Product Design, Modeling Development and Test Lead at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), 31CTS, Nellis AFB, NV. The JITTC-N is evolving into the world’s premier high-end Virtual Air Dominance Battlespace for future Large Force Integration events, and Northrop Grumman’s team is working to make that future a reality at Nellis AFB.
The Joint Simulation Environment is also right around the corner at Nellis AFB. The 31CTS and NGC is taking a leading role in accelerating future JSE capabilities now, to ensure Nellis’ Airmen are ready, and USAF Warfighters are prepared for any high-end fight.
The candidate will assist in the creation of integrated virtual operations to ensure the best possible training environment for USAF Weapons School, the Nellis Test community, and/or visiting units. NGC’s Virtual Battlespace Environment includes operational and test software to include Combat Environment Server (CES), Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT), just to name a few. With Northrop Grumman fulfilling the role of Lead Systems Integrators (LSI), the candidate will fill a critical role to ensure seamless battlespace integration with current Fighter/Bomber assets on the 31CTS campus (F-22/F-35/F-15E/F-16/E-3/RJ/CRC), and future advanced capabilities on the near horizon.
Responsibilities: A Command and Control SME – Product Design, Modeling Development and Test Lead will facilitate the JITTC-N’s support of daily virtual training through execution of modeling and simulation practices and standards, scenario development/configuration/system set up, soliciting and interpreting customer feedback, developing and managing software and network solutions, leveraging troubleshooting and analysis techniques and tools to support brief, execution and debrief for Large Force Employment (LFE) and single and multiple MDS events. The candidate may attend exercise planning conferences, meetings and site visits to gain a better understanding unit training requirement.

Command and Control SME - Product Design, Modeling Development and Test Lead will lead the NGC Operations team in the following Design, Modeling and
Test areas:
- Design management for modeling and simulation
- Configuration and deployment of systems and networks within the DIS/HLA/GRID simulation protocols and DMO standards to include ASCOT, NGTS, BC3 and MSCT
- Troubleshooting and analysis to test, develop and improve current operations systems and posture for emerging technologies
- Daily operations support for Command and Control training events
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years Experience OR 16+ years USAF Ops experience in lieu of degree OR Masters Degree with 10 yrs experience.
- Operational & Tactical Command and Control mission planning and execution expertise
- Working knowledge of Command and Control AFTTP 3-1 guidance or equivalent tactics guidance in the field.
- 10+ years experience in product design, simulation modeling and analysis within the DIS/HLA simulation protocols and DMO standards.
- DoD Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SAP/SAR.
Preferred Qualifications:
- USAF Weapons School graduate
- Nellis Weapons School training requirements/expertise
- Mission commander and/or equivalent and/or USAF instructor
- Experience with Combat Air Forces virtual exercises or events.
- Current Special Programs Access
Salary Range: $148,400 - $222,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
