The EHS Co-Op will report to the EHS Manager and will be working on job assignments related to their functional EHS discipline. These increasingly challenging assignments will provide foremost an effective learning assignment while meeting all federal, state, and local compliance requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Apply principles such as process improvements, product design, and improvement to EHS functions.
  • Work with the production hourly workforce to address day-to-day safety concerns.
  • Develop & improve material handling issues throughout the facility.
  • Work with outside vendors and consultants to eliminate injuries.
  • Investigate all facility accidents & injuries to develop corrective actions.
  • Help implement periodic inspections for hazardous waste, chemical use, and PPE use.
  • Attend training sessions and other appropriate educational opportunities.
  • Review and analyze PPE requirements for the various departments and process related functions.
  • Perform job risk analysis for various processes and tasks.
  • Perform new hire safety training and orientation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Full-time student pursuing Bachelor’s degree in EHS or another engineering field with an interest in safety.
  • Preferred knowledge of EHS engineering practices, IH sampling, regulatory compliance for OSHA, EPA, Hazardous Waste, and NFPA.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills

Students will spend 50 of their time in the office and 50 on the plant floor.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $22.00 to $27.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
