The Line Operations team oversees and supports Delta’s operation, representing Flight Ops and collaborating with all intra-division peers along with the OCC, ACS, Corporate Safety, Security & Compliance, TechOps and In-Flight Service groups. Line Operations works with domestic and international regulatory agencies and industry associations for Delta’s safety, compliance, customer service and business goals.

The Specialist, Line Operations is responsible for supporting International and Supplemental Operations. The position reports to the Manager – International and Supplemental Operations. 


Responsibilities

  • Assist with operational analysis and daily oversight of Deltas supplemental operations in accordance with Flight Operations policies. 
  • Review planned charter operations to ensure compliance with Flight Operations standards.
  • Create and conduct reviews of charter parking databases as well as airfield notes for charter and maintenance locations.
  • Coordinate Flight Operations involvement in maintenance ferry flights and aircraft delivery flights.
  • Review impact of airport construction projects on flight operations; coordinate within Flight Operations and cross-divisionally.
  • Assist with airfield reviews required for regular and alternate operations. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross divisional departments, business partners, and outside vendors.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience in airline operations 
    • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency at minimum. 
  • A working aviation vocabulary, normally acquired with a commercial pilot certificate, Airframe and Powerplant certificate, and/or Dispatcher certificate, and experience. 
  • Able to communicate technical aviation information to line pilots, dispatchers, Technical Operations, and other employees within operational departments. 
  • Able to understand and resolve issues relating to the operation of aircraft in a major airline environment, and explain complex, proprietary, confidential, legal, and sensitive issues. 
  • Working knowledge of Flight Operations policy, Federal Air Regulations (FARs), Transportation Security Authority (TSA), and other applicable government regulations and understanding of Air Traffic Control (ATC)/airspace structure, operations, and phraseology.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays when operation demands due to the nature and global reach of the operation and be willing to be on call.
This is a Safety Sensitive role that is regulated by the US Department of Transportation (DOT). 

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
  • Recent experience in major airline operations, including Flight Operations experience.
  • A commercial or private pilot license with an instrument rating highly desirable.
