4th shift Foundry Operator

Title: Foundry Furnace Helper

Status: Hourly

Shift: 4th, 6:30am-6:30pm

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Foundry Area Manager

Location: Mentor / RP, OH

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience.

Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Principal Area of Responsibility: The foundry furnace helper will train to perform the necessary operations of a Vacuum Casting Technician.

Specific Duties:

  • Must be able to operate all vacuum furnaces - equiax, D.S. and single crystal - and be able to accurately record all necessary information.

  • Ram crucibles on all furnaces, change over on D.S. susceptors/coils and melt coils.

  • Perform all responsibilities of the furnace helper.

  • Must be able to perform all duties according to S.O.P.’s, Engineering Procedures and Special Lot Instructions.
  • Meet the specific requirements of the efficiency standards.

  • Ensure that the Foundry Department’s high standard of housekeeping is met.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials.

  • Organize work for smooth operations. Ensure that required documentation is maintained.

  • Perform other duties as designated the supervisor.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

  • Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed below.

  • The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
