Job Description:
The P1AR Instructor will work under the P1AR Training Division (TRAIDIV) and will be required to analyze, develop and evaluate basic and advanced SAR hoist, short-haul rescue, law enforcement tactical rappel and fast rope, and other relevant FAA, Transport Canada, CASA, and EASA HEC/HHO training courseware. Instructors are responsible for applying their SME in delivering instructor-led classroom training, synthetic training utilizing Advanced Aircrew Mission Simulators (AAMS) and hoist procedural towers (HPT), live flight training, assessments, and continuous courseware development.
  
Priority 1 Air Rescue is currently hiring qualified and experienced hoist operators and helicopter rescue swimmers for our training division. All accepted personnel will undergo transition and instructor training at SART/TAC utilizing HPT/AAMS simulation and apprenticeship training with qualified P1AR instructors on selected and approved training classes. Traveling Days for training classes are based historically on 120-140 calendar days a year with SART/TAC Mesa Instructor staff supporting courses Monday to Friday as a flexible schedule.

Job Requirements:
Essential:
  • Minimum of 1000 Rotary Hours, performing operational Search and Rescue (SAR/CSAR)
  • Minimum of 50 hrs NVIS operations 
  • Including hoist SAR operations training and qualifications from a sound and recognized international commercial SAR operator, US based para-public SAR/Law Enforcement, US Coast Guard, Navy or Air Force military service.
  • US National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT/B).  Time may be given to complete initial-re/certification.
  • Physically fit (must pass pre-entry physical appropriate to safely conduct relevant duties)
  • Experience and background as a Technical Flight Crew Training Instructor, Flight Examination Board, and / or Standardization Team
Desired experience/education:
  • NR EMT-Paramedic
  • USCG FM/Hoist Operator or AST Rescue Swimmer
  • UK SAR winchman / operator paramedic
  • SAR, tactical, or medical educator
  • DOD crew chief, flight engineer, or SMA
  • Instructor development courses
  • Public speaking and / or teaching experience
  • Understanding & knowledgeable in courseware development
  • Experience with virtual simulation instruction
