Located in Wilder, KY, Andrews Laser Works manufactures metal brackets primarily for the aerospace industry. Utilizing laser cutting, machining, forming, stamping, welding, & assembly processes; the company transforms sheet metal into complex, tight-tolerance brackets for aircraft engines. With an ever-changing aerospace industry in which customers continually ask suppliers to integrate and innovate, Andrews Laser Works is responding to the challenge.

Position Summary:

Level One –Level one laser operators interpret work instructions and router as well as gather related work documents. They will perform basic setup tasks including powering up and zeroing the machine, as well as uploading programs from a central database. They will also interact with the laser in order to change offsets, and change the focus of laser.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate Mazak lasers to cut parts to customer supplied specifications.
  • Perform basic setup tasks.
  • Loading and unloading material using a crane.
  • Maintain quality standards including performing in process inspection procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Basic shop math
  • Ability to use basic inspection hand tools such as calipers, micrometers and pin gauges
  • Computer literate

Required Experience:

  • 0-1 year experience operating similar equipment

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: 80 of the time
  • Walking: 15 of the time
  • Bending: 5 of the time
  • Lifting or Carrying: Max 35lbs
