Boeing Commercial Airplanes has an exciting opportunity for an Lubrication Technician to join our team in Puget Sound region in Washington State!

Lubrication Technicians are responsible for monitoring, maintaining, disposing, and dispensing lubricants for various types of machinery, gearboxes, and equipment. They play a crucial role in ensuring that these machines and equipment run smoothly by providing the necessary lubrication. Additionally, Lubrication Technicians are trained in handling hazardous materials and are prepared to respond to emergency spills to minimize any potential risks.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Obtain work through various sources such as Plan of the Day (POD), Service Requests (SR), Emergent calls, supervision, or radio dispatch.

  • Operate a 2-way radio to receive job information and remain on call for emergency dispatch.

  • Respond as a first response team to SR or emergency calls for contaminants and dispose of them according to OSHA and State regulations.

  • Access online information such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Employee Time Keeping System (ETS), Maintenance Manuals, and equipment manuals.

  • Evaluate and determine the type of lubricant required based on manufacturing requirements and equivalents.

  • Calculate the volume of oil, water, and coolant using basic math or algebra.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on a scheduled route, servicing machines and equipment.

  • Maintain an inventory of lubricants or soap in the oil crib and shop floor.

  • Follow lockout, tag out, and tryout procedures for safety when working on or around machinery.

  • Assist maintenance mechanics in repairing and performing maintenance on equipment.

  • Operate mechanical lifts and material handling equipment as required.

  • Operate equipment for the pickup and removal of contaminants.

  • Maintain coolant tanks by pumping, cleaning, rinsing, and replacing with clean coolant.

  • Use cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, steam cleaners, and foam machines.

  • Monitor and maintain containment of hazardous waste and label drums and products according to regulations.

  • Coordinate hazardous waste disposal when necessary.

  • Maintain personal and tool certifications as required.

  

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work at heights and pass Fall Protection Training.

  • Experience handling hazardous materials and/or chemicals

  • Experience working around industrial equipment, performing lubrication and coolant routines.

  • Ability to use basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)

Typical Education:

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.

Relocation:

  • This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:

  • This position is variable shifts.

  • Ability to work 2nd shift with the opportunity to move to other shifts based on IAM contract and site needs.

Summary pay range: $23.50 - $42.55
