The Southwest Airlines High School Internship Program provides high school students with insight into the world of aviation over eight weeks. This hands-on program emphasizes the importance of education and opportunities beyond a diploma or degree. We entrust our Interns to make an impact on their Team in real-time projects, work toward Company initiatives, and achieve our Purpose of connecting People to whats important in their lives through friendly, reliable, and low-cost air travel, all while having fun and developing yourself as a future professional.
Join Southwest during an eight-week internship, lasting from June 11 to August 1, 2024.
Work onsite Tuesday through Thursday at our Corporate Campus in Dallas, Texas, every week.
Dedicate 20-24 hours each week to your internship responsibilities and tasks.
Receive hourly pay of $15.
Be provided with any required equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship.
The hiring process will consist of the following steps:
Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. CT: Attend our optional internship information and preparation session. Register at swa.is/HSinfosession.
Monday, Feb. 19 - Monday, Feb. 26: Apply online at careers.southwestair.com.
Early March: Video assessments will be provided to applicants who meet minimum qualifications.
Saturday, Apr. 6: If selected, interview at our Corporate Campus in Dallas, Texas. More information will be provided at a later date.

The North Dallas High School P-Tech Program Technology High School Intern will have the opportunity to support one of three different Teams within the department: Desktop Support, Cybersecurity Optimization Delivery, or Cybersecurity Platform Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities:
On the Desktop Support Team, the duties and responsibilities of the North Dallas High School P-Tech Program Technology High School Intern may include, but are not limited to:
Provide on-site hardware and software Customer support, consisting of desktop and laptop imaging, configuration, and troubleshooting
Display strong Teamwork, a great attitude, and outstanding Hospitality to Customers
On the Cybersecurity Optimization Delivery Team, the duties and responsibilities of the North Dallas High School P-Tech Program Technology High School Intern may include, but are not limited to:
Provide Analyst-type support within our workforce strategy, agile continuous improvement, and delivery dashboard work streams.
Assist with updating onboarding material and creating new content as needed to assist with existing gaps in documentation
Collaborate with department Leadership, as well as various Team Members within the Cybersecurity Business Office Operations, to execute deliverables
Attend various meetings throughout the week to stay current with the status of delivery items
On the Cybersecurity Platform Engineering Team, the duties and responsibilities of the North Dallas High School P-Tech Program Technology High School Intern may include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical/engineering support for Cybersecurity Platform Engineering Teams as it relates to Network & Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, Integrations & Frameworks, and Automation & Observability
Attend various meetings throughout the week to stay current with the status of delivery items
Work alongside other Technology Teams, including Infrastructure & Enterprise Cloud, DevOps, and Frameworks
Present final deliverables and learnings to Leadership
Southwest Airlines will consider your interest in the North Dallas High School P-Tech Program Technology High School Intern position if you:
Currently participate in the North Dallas High School P-Tech Computer Information Technology Pathway
Must currently reside in the Dallas, Texas area as Southwest does not provide housing or offer relocation for high school internships
Are at least 16 years old by June 11, 2024
Are currently enrolled in high school with a Sophomore, Junior, or senior status
Have transportation to/from Southwest Airlines offices noted in the job description above
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above
Classroom experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Prior work experience, extracurricular activities, and Leadership experience
Quick learner, self-motivated, organized, Team-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Program dates: June 11- August 1, 2024
Time commitment: Part-time, 20 to 24 hours per week during normal business hours
Work location: You must reside in Dallas, Texas, during the internship and work onsite at our Corporate Campus
