Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a 2024 Summer Intern - Numerical Control Programmer Engineer. Numerical Control Programmer Engineers provide support for all stages of a platform’s program lifecycle. The Numerical Control Programming Engineer (N/C Programmer) discipline is consulted and responsible for development of datasets for use with computer controlled milling machines and robots.

This position will be embedded in detailed manufacturing plans, concepts, processes, and procedures. The day-to-day tasking will include working with design engineers and shop floor personnel to support production of our various platforms.

This position requires a detail-oriented and organized candidate with demonstrated technical proficiency and capability. Strong communication skills – written and verbal – are required to successfully interface with various departments within Aero.

Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related degree plan, e.g., Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering Technology, Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or Aeronautics Engineering Technology
• Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Member of the SME, SAE, ASME, or other similar technical organization
• Design, build club/project experience (i.e., SAE Formula and Baja)
• Previous manufacturing/operations experience
• Desire to obtain an Operations role indicated by expressing interest in ‘hands-on’ applications of engineering and manufacturing principles
• Experience with CAD system
• Machining/machine shop experience
• Ability to work in a team environment demonstrated through organized group activities

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
