Job Summary

Performing under the daily direction of the Manager, Occupational Health/Infection Control and indirectly to the Director, HR Service Delivery, this position functions as a Coordinator responsible for a variety of administrative and coordinating functions within the Occupational Health/Infection Control Department. The Coordinator, Occupational Health, is responsible for data entry and maintenance of a centralized data base of employee occupational health requirements and COVID-19 patient transports, verifying clinic charges and processing invoices through Accounts Payable, sending necessary health forms to clinics and employees, coordinating new hire occupational health processes, and coordinates messaging and activities for Occupational Health Department on Share Point. This position coordinates with all clinics across the nation for all required employee testing/vaccinations/immunizations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinates all aspects of the Occupational Health Departments centralized data base and individual employee folders containing health care testing information. Maintains strict confidentiality and proper control of all healthcare information in line with HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordinates occupational health requirements for all new hires and current employees, ensures proper tracking and record keeping of all mandatory requirements.
  • Interacts with designated occupational health clinics to obtain and share information related to company health testing.
  • Interacts with company employees, answering general questions, notifying them of overdue and missing health testing results.
  • Maintains accurate COVID-19 patient transport data. Works with Patient Navigation and Patient Financial Services as needed to ensure accurate data for chart. Follows up with hospitals for patients COVID-19 results.
  • Interacts with Company Supervisors, answering general questions, notifying them of deficient testing results.
  • Collaborates with department Administrative Assistants as needed for follow-up.
  • Verifies charges from occupational health clinics and processes invoices for payment.
  • Coordinates messaging, document folders, and calendars for Department on Share Point.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly reports to leadership team, i.e., monthly weight report, monthly missing credentials report, etc.
  • Responsible for monthly check of portable emergency defibrillators and inventory of first aid/emergency bags.
  • Is cross trained to back up job duties and responsibilities of the other Occupational Health Coordinator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will have:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Degree in health education, health science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a health-related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with employee occupational health preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to include oral comprehension, oral expression, written comprehension and written expression.
  • Ability to problem solve internal/external customer issues with a positive win-win attitude.
  • Ability to work in an organized fashion while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze billed charges and process appropriately.
  • Ability to accurately work with MS, Excel and other specific databases with above average typing speed and accuracy.
  • This position is designated Safety Sensitive for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
