Job Description:
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform a full spectrum of dimensional inspections of parts involving close tolerances and ensure compliance with all applicable drawings and other applicable technical data.
- Perform a variety of duties to independently complete incoming, layout, first piece, in-process and final inspection of aerospace parts.
- Operate computerized measuring equipment, train and assist other inspectors as required.
- Develop concise documentation that is compliant to the requirements of the organization, customer and/or regulatory requirements.
- Interface with Quality, Engineering, and Tooling teams on gage concepts during program development.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 to 3 years layout inspection experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years in a parts manufacturing environment preferred
- Proficient in CMM operation and programming preferred.
- Working knowledge of the use of measuring instruments, i.e. various micrometers, verniers, swing, snap, and dial gauges, etc. desirable.
- Read and understand part drawings, internal process instructions and other technical data to perform dimensional inspection activities.
- Proficient in the application of GD&T.
- Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to support corrective action activities.
- Strong mathematical skills, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Compliance with general attendance standards is required.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Additional technical training or education desirable.
