Overhaul Technician will perform specialized component repairs on commercial aircraft parts and accessory systems. Using drawings, tools, and computer based task tracking and parts systems, will repair the following systems to include mechanical, electrical, valve, pump, and both metal and composite parts, gaining certification on specific units as they progress, and documenting each repair as per company and FAA regulations:

BEVERAGE MAKERS: Coffee, Espresso, Water Boilers

TRANSPARENCIES: Windscreen, Slider, Eyebrow, Air Gap

LAVATORIES: Toilet, Timers, Drain Masts/Valves, Faucets,

Water Heaters, Flush Valves, Pumps

OXYGEN SYSTEMS: Crew Masks, Regulators, Stow Boxes

GALLEY: Ovens, Controllers, Motors

Will often work on the same types of units, but will encounter different challenges and work with some new and some legacy equipment, so they are many opportunities to diagnose and troubleshoot. Some units may be newer and/or not require much maintenance, quickly test and replace a part, some will have a certain component (maybe a fan motor in an oven, or a valve in a coffee maker), that require more troubleshooting and repair, using the maintenance manual and test stands to diagnose.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

Mechanical aptitude - Aerospace assembly, mechanic, equipment assembly, hydraulics, hobbies like cards or computers, etc.

Good attendance/reliability - check w references

Eligible for FAA Safety Sensitive (10 panel UA), no prior DOT violations

Read detailed drawings and manuals in English, identify and use hand and power tools

Tools: Not needed to start, but within a month, will want to identify what tools are frequently used (usually screwdrivers and ratchets) and bring your own. All specialized/calibrated tools are provided

Preferred:

Aircraft mechanic or aviation repair station experience. Aircraft structures is helpful for the Window shop; Electronics experience is helpful for most products, especially PCB repair and soldering. Many of the units like coffee makers, water heaters, and valves have a simple PCB attached to a sensor, must be fault tested and repaired.
