TASK DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent of this task assists in implementing KAF 4790.2 Series programs throughout the Organizational Level (O-Level) safety equipment /egress work centers at Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base.
TASK REQUIREMENTS:
1. Review technical publications and directives and prepare or assist in the preparation of required maintenance instructions.
2. Monitor the Collateral Duty Inspection (CDI)/Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) program and review the personal qualifications of nominees for CDI and CDQAR designation.
3. Investigate hazard reports, and assist in the preparation of various problem-related reports.
4. Provide assistance to production personnel and conduct final inspections where required.
5. Perform periodic inspections of work centers and maintenance programs to ensure compliance with KAF 4790.2 Series and other applicable instructions or directives.
6. Analyze information from accumulated Maintenance Data in developing discrepancy trends to identify failure areas and other maintenance problems. Review source documents and periodic inspection records and note recurring discrepancies requiring special action.
7. Review all Engineering Investigation requests, Quality Deficiency Reports, Technical Publication Deficiency Reports, Aircraft Discrepancy Reports, Hazardous Material Reports, Explosive Mishap Reports, and Conventional Ordnance Discrepancy Reports to ensure they are accurate, clear, and concise prior to mailing.
8. Be familiar with the use of common and peculiar support equipment.
9. Support on-the-job training and cross-training of Kuwait Air Force personnel.
MINIMUM PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of five years experience as an O-Level F/A-18 Safety Equipment/Egress technician.
2. At least two years experience on Navy Aircrew Common Ejection Seat and On-Board Oxygen Generating Systems.
3. A minimum of two years experience as an O-Level F/A-18 Safety Equipment Quality Assurance Representative.
4. Proficient in the use of all safety equipment tools, support equipment, and publications, and capable of performing all functions required of an O-Level safety equipment technician.
5. Thoroughly familiar with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program as described in COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series.
6. Must be computer literate and familiar with commercial word processing programs.
7. No security clearance required.
