TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Angle, die and bench grinder, dressing stones, hand taps and drills, burr whips and swivels, scale, hammer, files, Scotch Brite, wrenches, chisels, center punches, steel stamps, electric etch pencil, wire brush, Forklift (Stacker), steam clean booth, oil dispensers, calipers, steel stamps, nuts, bolts, seal strips, safety glasses, gloves, etc.

MATERIAL:

Carbon and stainless steel, alloy steel, aluminum, brass, rough and semi‑finished stock, castings, forgings, fabrications, emery cloth, sandpaper, solvent, acetone, rags, preservative products, anti‑rust spray, plastic coat, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deburr, identify, preserve and protect from damage a variety of parts according to established process specifications.

Deburr holes, sharp edges, thread chasing, etc. on a variety of machined parts using files, grinders, hand tools and taps. Identify parts in accordance with method specified (stamping). Coat parts with rust inhibitor and protective coatings and wrap journals, threads and fine finishes with specified preserving products.  Clean and degrease using power washer, solvents and hand wipe down.  Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 years deburr experience with hardened steel, in a machine shop environment.
  • Read and understand drawings, basic GD&T knowledge.
  • Computer knowledge and experience to view instructions, log work, receive and send emails, complete online training.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate job requirements and status to co-workers between shifts.
  • Dedicated team member with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • High school diploma/GED
