Role Introduction

As Cathay’s internal creative agency, we are the team behind differentiating content that brings our ethos to life. We ideate, create and produce customer and employee-facing content, namely photography, video, graphic design, art direction and copy; across disciplines of branding, customer experience, marketing, digital and product design.

We are looking for a talented creative video editor with a passion for travel, post-production and visual storytelling to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and own the post-production process of compelling video content that captures our brand, customer experience, retail experience, destinations, aircraft, and people.
  • Play a key role in post-production: Enhance all video output using post-production tools to ensure best-in-class video editing, sound design, audio selection and colour correction/grading.
  • Support in pre-production: Work alongside video producers, designers, and writers to help deliver best-in-class production work to help set up post-production up for success.
  • Support in the ideation of video ideas in response to creative briefs from across multiple business units.
  • Edit a variety of content to fulfil creative briefs, ranging from high-end corporate films to creative clips for social media. 
  • Edit a variety of video formats and lengths o fulfil creative briefs: 16:9, 9:16, 4:5 1:1
  • Ensure that work consistently adheres to our brand, video and photography guidelines
  • Push brand boundaries with new and interesting editing and post-production techniques.
  • Format, retouch, edit and enhance existing video projects as required.  
  • Responsible for making sure our content resonates with target audiences and markets. 
  • Offer continuous insight into industry best practices, digital trends, and content generation ideas. 
Requirements
  • Experience with industry-standard post-production tools and software, such as Adobe, Davinci, and Final Cut Pro.
  • Have a keen eye for digital video trends: transitions, pre-sets, templates, concepts…etc.
  • Have familiarity with using post-production tool kits, such as those found on Envato Elements, Artlist.io, or motion array: video templates, motion graphics templates, transitions, LUTs and effects.
  • Have a portfolio of work that displays competency in editing skills across sequencing, retouching, colour correction, and sound design.
  • Good time management skills – you will be expected to estimate and allocate your time efficiently across on-going projects and stick to mutually agreed schedules
  • Strong organisation skills - you will be expected to manage your own resources and properly store files and project folders in a clear and understandable way.
  • Presentation skills – you will be expected to present your work to colleagues and management with confidence
  • Preferably have experience with motion graphics software, such as Adobe After Effects
  • 3D motion graphics experience, such as with Cinema 4D, blender, or similar software, is a plus
  • On-set production experience is a plus.
