JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, organizes, and facilitates the strategic acquisition of materials and services of technical and/or contractual complexity. Responsible for all facets of the supplier negotiation process based upon Textron Aviation’s strategic initiatives. Represents supply chain and aftermarket on a variety of cross functional teams using comprehensive supply management and distribution strategies. Develops and leads development of supply chain management personnel regarding contractual understanding, drafting contractual language and improving negotiation skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate in a self-directed environment to ensure contract terms and conditions support the overall production and aftermarket strategies. Authority to approve project objectives, approaches to assignments and manage production/aftermarket tradeoffs to obtain best value for the company, with minor exceptions.
• Develop supplier relationships to align the supply base with Textron Aviation’s overall strategy. Sets supplier strategies and manages impact to the organization.
• Lead or support key production and aftermarket negotiations, amendments or addendums that have significant financial impact to the company. This will include establishing boilerplate terms and conditions and facilitating agreement between cross functional groups to ensure buy in to strategic trade-offs. Develops solutions to achieve strategic goals and supports process changes.
• Key focal point for facilitation of contractual issues with Textron Aviation Legal Counsel, interpretation of supplier contracts, and approval of most contract deviations.
• Develop training programs for SCM and aftermarket personnel regarding contract understanding, risk, liability, aftermarket/distribution programs and implementation of new strategies.
• Provides guidance and support for production and aftermarket personnel regarding supplier issues, disagreements and relationships.
• Contract Group representative for assigned commodity team(s), AD source selection team, process improvement teams, and supplier rationalization team. May represent upper management in cross functional staff meetings, business development assignments and presentations to Business Teams and Senior Management.
• Manage supply chain administrative functions including but not limited to: contract office of record, internal supply chain control audits, and supply chain policy and departmental instructions.
• Maintain current knowledge on industry trends by personal contacts, industry reports, trade journals, magazines, and participation in professional organizations.
