PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Aviation Quality Manager provides leadership in an Aviation Quality Assurance line of business and ensures compliance with contract Quality Requirements. Communicates, sustains, monitors & ensures compliance with QMS Certification levels. The Aviation Quality Manager implements quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations. Effectively manages resources of test, inspection, supplier QA, quality engineers and QMS audit team. Leads company initiatives on continual improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Identifies, analyzes and develops improvements in productivity, quality, customer relationships, and customer service.
• Communicates with various Government Quality professionals in a manner that upholds high levels of expectations.
• Establishes processes & procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
• Determines and enforces, through functional groups, quality requirements in accordance with real company needs based on current regulations.
• Implements and maintains the company quality system, reports on performance of the quality system for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system.
• Inspects all phases of a variety of goods, services or operation for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing on-going work for compliance with contractual provisions.
• Plans and tracks functional resources and ensures managing to budget & BOE constraints.
• Builds effective teams with strong morale.
• Manages training via training manager to efficiently deliver a comprehensive training program.
• Communicates a clear vision to ensure line of sight to functional goals for key functional participants
• Develops new functional objectives and stays current in professional disciplines.
• Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules; develops solutions to functional area problems and directs work of employees assigned to business disciplines and those matrixed to various programs / projects.
• Works as a team with Program Management / Teams regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
• Ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner.
• Specifies areas to be inspected (scheduled and unscheduled) and how often inspections will be accomplished.
• Possesses a wide degree of creativity and latitude and the ability to perform tasks with a minimal supervision
• Demonstrates an ability to work in difficult situations
• Communicates deficiencies to proper persons.
• Maintains Quality Control files and document results of all inspections.
• Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and evaluates subordinate personnel. Overall responsible for compliance with government and company processes and procedures.

• Ability to understand and interpret & technically discuss drawings, specifications, regulations applicable to the job.
• Ability to generate routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform; general decisions are made to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Level Security Clearance
