Government Affairs Senior Manager
Job Description:

Arconic is currently in search of a Government Affairs Senior Manager to join our Government Affairs Team in Pittsburgh, PA. Primary Responsibilities

  • Work together with the Vice President, Government Affairs, and the extended Arconic team to advance public policy topics for Arconic in key states and communities across the United States. Provide public officials with timely information regarding Arconic’s public policy positions, business operations, and innovation initiatives.
  • Independently identify, monitor, and analyze key issues and legislation at the state and federal level, and develop state policy strategies and outreach plans where appropriate.
  • Develop and advance relationships with key external state and local stakeholders to foster and grow Arconic investment, operations, and presence in the U.S. This may include engagement on topics such as economic development, incentive programs, and permitting.
  • Manage incentive applications at the state and federal level, in coordination with locations and business leaders.
  • Engage with key trade associations to influence and direct policy development to support Arconic business objectives. Represent the company in coalitions supporting Arconic priorities. Provide company leaders with opportunities to develop relationships with elected officials by coordinating visits, tours, and attendance at events.
  • Maintain regular communication with business units to support internal stakeholder awareness and review of relevant Government Affairs actions. Closely align with Arconic site leaders to create and execute local engagement plans, including representation and participation in the local community.
  • Manage the Arconic Political Action Committee (PAC).

Key Objectives

  • Be aware of, track, and educate internal stakeholders on key policy positions that impact Arconic businesses.
  • Advocate on behalf of Arconic and its customers and lead State/Local Government Affairs in the United States for Arconic locations, to improve Arconic position in the spanet and align with Arconic values.
  • Develop and execute Congressional and Administration engagement strategy on topics as assigned
  • Develop pipeline of incentives to support Arconic operations, and manage application process.
  • Develop and execute contributions strategy for Arconic PAC aligned with Arconic values and business initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 7 years minimum experience in policy, advocacy, or government affairs at the Federal or State level.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

  • Experience with state and local incentives and/or understanding of the Congressional appropriations process, and the implications for business operations.
  • A high level of discretion and confidentiality; ability to deal with ambiguity and influencing without direct authority.
  • Position could be located in Washington DC for the right candidate.
